Congratulations to Betty Harman and Cecilia Kuhlman. These seasoned professionals have been promoted to pivotal roles at the corporate relocation company, NRI Relocation. Betty Harman now serves as Director of Client Success, while Cecilia Kuhlman takes on the role of Director of Service Operations.

Their promotions are milestones in their careers and a strategic shift in the evolution of NRI Relocation’s leadership. Betty and Cecilia will use their extensive corporate relocation industry experience, heartfelt commitment to NRI’s clients and partners, collaboration, and fresh energy to build on this relocation company’s legacy.

Betty Harman Delivers Client Success Through Experience and Empathy

Betty Harman’s career in relocation spans more than three decades, including nearly 30 years on the client side of the industry as the corporate relocation manager. She joined NRI Relocation six years ago as she sought a company that aligned with her values.

“I really like the culture at NRI,” Betty says. “It’s very service-focused, and we can pick the best of the best suppliers who we think are the best fit for the employees.”

Her NRI Relocation onboarding came at a challenging time, just weeks before the COVID-19 lockdown. “Thankfully, it was easy for me to pick up,” Betty said. “I had a great support system with phone calls and Zoom.”

Now, as Director of Client Success, Betty brings her dual perspective from working on both the client side and within relocation management. She sees client success as a constant balance between cost control and supporting employees. “Success is helping clients meet their goals, whether it’s cost, employee satisfaction, or reporting,” Betty explained.

Betty also says a good partner helps clients keep their relocation programs ahead of the curve. “I want to keep clients up to date on industry changes, help them develop policies, and be there for them when they need us,” she said. “Whether it’s once every five years or once every five weeks.”

Cecilia Kuhlman Nurtures True Partnerships

Cecilia Kuhlman’s relocation industry experience began on the vendor side, supporting relocation management companies. Her relocation experience then grew at NRI Relocation, where she quickly became known for her reliability and strategic thinking.

Now, as Director of Service Operations, Cecilia focuses on strengthening relationships across the supply chain and ensuring operational consistency.

“I’ve been reaching out to our current partners and reiterating that it’s all about partnership,” she said. “What can we do so both parties benefit? It’s being personal with suppliers as much as with transferees.”

Cecilia has a clear vision for what kind of relocation service vendors are a good fit for the NRI Relocation global mobility network. “A good service partner is someone who sees the transferee as a person, not a transaction,” Cecilia explained. “It’s about responsiveness, consistency, and shared values. We’re not just checking boxes. We’re building trust.”

Cecilia believes that when relocation service partners feel valued and aligned with NRI’s mission, everyone, including NRI Relocation, the service partner, the client, and the relocating employee, benefits. “If you speak to most of our partners, they’ll tell you it’s the relationship that makes NRI different,” she said. “We’re not just managing logistics. We’re nurturing connections.”

Corporate Relocation Success Through Collaboration

With their promotions, Betty and Cecilia are establishing new roles that were previously held by their predecessor and mentor, Paula Keats-Ward. As Vice President of Client Success, Paula served NRI Relocation’s clients and partners for twenty years.

Betty and Cecilia’s goal is to build on Paula’s accomplishments. “There’s so much I’ve learned from Paula,” Betty said. “She established the basis,” Cecilia agrees. “Now it’s about building on top of it.”

Therefore, a collaborative relationship is central to Betty and Cecilia’s shared success. “We knew there’d be growing pains separating a role previously held by one person,” Cecilia acknowledged. “But we share a vision and communicate candidly. There’s no drama, just a common goal.”

Having worked together for six years, Betty and Cecilia already have a synergy based on respect and easy rapport.

“We collaborate now on things that sometimes blur the line between client and employee questions,” Betty said. “We’re very comfortable working together to find the best answer.”

Their shared background as relocation consultants gives them an advantage. “We know the clients. We know how it works,” Betty says. “That helps us create success for the company.”

Professional Growth From Relocation Consultants to Directors

Both Betty and Cecilia credit NRI Relocation’s culture with supporting their professional development. For Cecilia, that meant being able to express her aspirations openly. “The family feel allowed me to not be afraid to ask, not be afraid to keep growing,” she said. “John and Paula supported that.”

Betty shared a similar experience. “Even when I was hired as a consultant, I mentioned to Paula that I liked working on policies,” she said. “Even though I wasn’t in that role, I was invited into discussions. That helped grow my knowledge and confidence.”

NRI also supports its team through professional memberships and training. “We’re supported in things like WERC memberships and real estate licenses,” Betty noted.

Career Growth Within NRI Relocation’s Family Culture

Ask anyone at NRI Relocation what makes the company’s culture special, and you’ll usually hear the same word: family.

“It’s small enough that you can walk into John’s office and have a conversation,” Cecilia noted. “But it’s still structured professionally.”

Betty agrees. “We’re supported by leadership, and our suggestions are taken seriously.”

Taking Relocation Personally is what sets this corporate relocation company apart. “We care about the clients, the transferring employees, our suppliers, and our team,” Betty said. “We’re not just about bottom-line numbers.”

Building the Future of NRI Relocation

Both Betty and Cecilia credit the NRI Relocation legacy they’re inheriting, and are ready to leave their own mark behind.

“We aspire to be as impactful as the teams before us,” says Cecilia.”We want to make NRI even better. I want to develop a recognizable NRI brand that reflects the consistent quality of our consultants.”

That vision includes building a bigger brand, deeper partnerships, stronger operations, and a culture that continues to feel like family.

Congratulations to Betty and Cecilia. They have both already contributed so much to the company, and we’re looking forward to the difference their leadership will make to NRI Relocation’s future.
